Jesus Christ & Mary in Islam
Assalamualaikum (greetings and peace be with you),
The Muslim Students' Association at Western Michigan University would like to invite you to the event titled, 'Jesus Christ & Mary in Islam' on Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 6:00 PM in the Bernhard Center Rooms 208 & 209.
In light of recent domestic and world events and with almost one quarter of the world's population being Muslim, approximately 7 million of those Muslims living in the U.S.A, this event helps bridge the gap between the Muslim community and the non-Muslim community in our community.
Join us for an evening of understanding, reflection and a delicious meal. There is no cost for this event but we ask you reserve your spot in advance, as space is extremely limited.
Biography of Speaker
The keynote speaker for the evening will be Hafiz Nauman Akbar. He memorized the Holy Qur’an in its entirety, with rules of Tajweed (recitation) in 1991 and received his Ijazah of the Holy Quran in one of the recitations of Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessing be upon him). Hafiz Nauman was born and raised in Pakistan. Before moving to united States in 2001, he studied for several years in learning different Islamic Sciences directly under the eminent Scholars of Islam. He served as an imam in Pakistan during his Islamic leadership training in the years 1999-2000.
Currently, he is serving as an Imam of the Kalamazoo Islamic Center since the year 2002. He has a decade long experience in teaching Quran and Islamic studies to people of different age groups in Muslims and Non Muslims alike. He has been a keynote speaker on various social and religious issues for the past several years.
